The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

In numerous discussions, enthusiasts continue to ring the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering on PS5 topics as a new development. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. However, judging purely by what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft continues to plan to attract subscribers with compelling titles on its flagship service.

The Available Now Titles

The two games that are immediately available at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Upcoming Headline Games

On Jan. 13, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, hailed in past assessments as "a superb mixture of frights and fights."

Compelling Indie Titles

However, the more modest titles coming to Game Pass soon are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, becomes available next week — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the developers behind Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

In summary, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription alone. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — transforming them into ideal prospects to find a new audience on Game Pass.

Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
